| What
is SPARK?
SPARK is a program that helps children get ready for
kindergarten by building
reading, language, and social skills.
What
are the benefits of the SPARK program?
Each month, children receive a new book, activity, and
educational supplies, while parents and parent partners share
ideas through home visits and workshops.
Who
can join the SPARK Program?
Preschool-age Ohio children who live in Alliance, Minerva, and certain areas of Akron, Canton, Cincinnati, Cleveland, Massillon, Warren, and Youngstown.
What
does it mean to be ready for kindergarten?
Ready children are healthy and strong, get along and
play well with others, and find new ways to learn and
communicate.
How
is the SPARK program funded?
Although the initial investment in SPARK was made by the W. K. Kellogg Foundation in partnership with the Sisters of Charity Foundation of Canton, multiple funders now support SPARK sites in six Ohio counties.
