SPARK parents are also interviewed each year using the Home Observation Measurement of the Environment (HOME). This is done because, in SPARK, the parent plays a crucial role as the child's learning advocate.  The HOME measures the parent's ability to play this role in three areas. The following chart shows the improvement that the most at-risk parents make by the time their child enters kindergarten.
